End Over End 02:44
1-9-1-9 Not a show trial nor a witch hunt More an isobar clinging to a storm front Victim-playing brings you unstuck As the world around you goes belly-up End over end, end over end Over and over, over and over Where hubris meets defiance Eagerly dismissing the science You know best, so compliant With an ethos of over-reliance As long as it sparkles, shimmers, glistens You don't care, you don't listen! Not a show trial nor a witch hunt More an isobar clinging to a storm front Victim-playing brings you unstuck As the world around you goes belly-up End over end, end over end Over and over, over and over 2-0-2-0

about

INDIAN YELLOW

The origins of Indian Yellow are disputed. It was originally believed to be a urine extract from cows that were fed an exclusive diet of mango leaves, turmeric and water. Following a complicated processing and dilution method, Indian Yellow was used as a pigment by painters such as JMW Turner and William Quilter Orchardson. The process was allegedly banned due to the cruelty suffered by the cows who were often left malnourished. Other theories have Indian Yellow as being derived from camel urine, animal gallstones, and the sap of a tree mixed with magnesia. It is now produced synthetically.

The notion of something beautiful being created from such a strange and unattractive source has great appeal, and it is so often the case when the finished product is broken down.

This month's release - Indian Yellow - is a three track digital EP. One new song 'End on End' written in a time when we seem to be nudging toward COVID-19's second wave, and two re-workings of earlier songs from the 'when we used to play live' era, which we hope will one day re-appear. One day soon.

The Tracks:

1 END OVER END
A punk/post-punk rail against the responses of particular world leaders to the pandemic.

2 COFFEE SHEBEEN
Track 4 of Black Slander is revisited and given a bit of a work-over. Originally brittle and lo-fi, this reworking leaves it with a more immersive, atmospheric sound.

3 LURVE YO' MAN
Everyone's favourite parody of the alpha male rock star (refer track 4 of Lutraphobia) is pulled right back with an understated treatment, less bombastic than the original.

There is nothing special about you, rock star man. You are simply an everyday wanker, who just happens to be on a stage.
